This is the source of the wiki page Template:S.

THE claim-citation twin of Template:Par (binding contract §3.2, Phase D). It renders BYTE-IDENTICALLY to Template:Par — the same muted section sign (§) painted by MediaWiki:Common.css (.ed-src a::after), the same real link to Bot:Evidence boxed on the paragraph's region — so the click-to-source gadget's citation lane (MediaWiki:Gadget-figureSource.js, selector .ed-src[data-par]) peeks and opens a exactly as it does a , with no gadget change.

The difference is RELATION, not render (see tools/doc_archive/design/binding_contract.md §2.2, §3.2, §5):

  • is the DEFINITION site — "this paragraph of source ink IS atom X" —
printed at the atom's end on the transcript, where the id is minted, and it
OWNS the HTML anchor (id="<id>") so
 Document:<path>#<id> deep-links to the paragraph.
  • is a REFERENCE — "this derived claim RESTS ON atom X" — glued after a
claim on a non-source page (the analytic reading face, bot answers). It
carries the id in data-par but owns NO anchor: the SAME atom may
be cited on several pages and twice on one page, so a duplicate element
id= would be invalid DOM and would break the transcript's
deep-link. That single dropped attribute is the ONLY difference from
 Template:Par.

A parser tells them apart by template name and surface; a reader mostly cannot, which is the point — "show me this paragraph's original ink" has one answer and one look. The analytic-page write path emits at settle time (tools/doc_archive/summary/render.py, mirroring →); the transcript keeps . The id carries its document in its prefix, so no doc= parameter is needed (the gadget resolves it).

Usage:

The id is minted once at Stage-A pairing (tools/doc_archive/output/pair_paragraphs.py) and carried across builds; the citing page never mints, only references. Machine-authored: never hand-write these.
