This is the source of the wiki page Template:Pdf page — THE source-page pointer ("p. m" always means page m of the source/evidence PDF, user rule 2026-08-08), in two variants selected by the fine parameter:

  • coarse (no fine):
    p. 7
    — the
 per-unit transcript marker (the proofread loop). A centred folio "p. 7" that
 deep-links the source PDF at that page (browsers honor #page=N), with an
 id="p7" anchor so talk-page comments can link Page#p7. Appends #page={{{1}}}
 to the url.
  • fine ([…#page=60 p. 60]) — the inline pointer used
 INSIDE other markers ({{Chunk}}'s p part) and, with block=1, standing
 alone between transcript blocks (the {{Pg}} alias). Displays "p. 60" (a
 range "57-59" verbatim, linking its first page — the caller bakes #page into
 the url, used verbatim); no anchor (a page can carry many). block=1 adds the
 centred-folio placement so a standalone chip aligns with the other markers.

Emitted by tools/doc_archive/output/original_page.py (transcript) and tools/doc_archive/summary/render.py (analytic c. {{{c}}}; [[Document:Pdf page#p{{{p}}}|p. {{{p}}}]] markers); the derivers map them back. Styling in MediaWiki:Common.css (.ed-pdfpage / .ed-pg / .ed-pg-block). MediaWiki:Common.js opens these links in a new tab (wikitext cannot set a link target).
